Fire kills 4,500 pigs at Big Sky barn in Sask.

Fire engulfed a barn belonging to Big Sky Farms west of Lanigan, Sask., yesterday evening, killing approximately 4,500 young pigs.

According to an email sent by Humboldt-Lanigan RCMP, a fire crew from the Lanigan Fire Department arrived shortly after 6 p.m. March 31. Smoke was coming out of the eves of the barn, and fire soon followed.

No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

      Thanks Rhonda – looks like the “1″ got chopped somehow. The correct date is March 31, 2014. I’ve updated the story to reflect this.

      Or, maybe the piglets knew the location of the missing Malaysian Airlines flight 370?
