Welcome to the world of Brevant seeds!

Corteva Agriscience, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont, launched a new premium retail seed brand this summer called Brevant seeds.

The new brand will support Corteva’s canola and soybean growers in Western Canada and is where they will find the latest innovations from the company’s best-in-class global R&D program.

And while Brevant seeds is a new brand, there are some familiar touchstones for Western farmers. On the canola front, for example, Nexera canola hybrids will be rolled into the Brevant seeds offering. It means that you’ll still sign a Nexera production contract with your preferred contractor, but you’ll be using Brevant seeds to fulfill that production contract. Brevant seeds retailers will also be carrying Pioneer brand D-series canola hybrids.

For 2019, Brevant seeds is also offering high-performing, short-season soybean varieties bred specifically for Western growing conditions.

Four canola production systems

If you’re thinking that Brevant seeds is nothing but a new name for two canola brands you already know and love, think again. It actually means more canola options and better choices so farmers can grow what they want, how they want and where they want.

For instance, Brevant seeds carries canola hybrids with a range of desirable traits, from clubroot resistance to multi-gene blackleg resistance to pod shatter resistance and more.

As of now, growers can access those traits in Roundup Ready® and Clearfield® systems. But, with LibertyLink® and Optimum® GLY hybrids coming soon, pending regulatory approval, Brevant seeds will be one of the first canola seed suppliers to offer all four canola production systems under one roof.

On the soybean side, Brevant seeds plans to include Enlist soybeans among its variety choices. These soybeans are tolerant to Enlist Duo herbicide, a proprietary blend of glyphosate and 2,4-D choline for better control of glyphosate resistant and other tough-to-control weeds.*

Locally tested, locally proven. Farmers need to know that what they buy will perform on their farm, in their soil type, under their moisture conditions. That’s why all Brevant seeds hybrids and varieties are locally tested and locally proven to perform.

Making your life easier

To make life easier, Brevant seeds offers everything growers and retailers need under one roof, including access to Corteva Agriscience’s complete lineup of crop protection products, such as DuPont Lumiderm® seed treatment, Acapela® fungicide, Eclipse and Salute herbicides and more.

They’ve even built a <tool> to help make it easier to choose the right Brevant seeds canola hybrid for your farm. Check it out and see which Brevant hybrids are right for you!
