
Levy began his first week with the usual myriad introductions to staffers, none of whose names he was likely to remember five minutes later. It takes some time to get familiar with everyone. Then there was the job-related paperwork, lunch from nearby Prairie Meats and the larding on of several assignments due by week’s end.
By the second day, Levy was covering a visit from prime minister Stephen Harper at the Diefenbaker Centre and exploring the intricacies of BSE spread via phone interviews. Clearly, he is a quick study.

Next week, who knows? Will he visit the Queen? Land a major agricultural news scoop? Hang from the fluorescent light fixture over his cubicle? Or get tapped to write one of those inevitable stories about livestock manure?
We are happy to have Levy with us for a few months, whatever his assignments prove to be.
