Your letter from Robert Leinweber (Open Forum, April 21) has caused me to have nightmares.
How soon can Robert get the OPEC leaders cleared through Canada immigration so that the Canadian Wheat Board can hire their expertise and have them repeat their success with world oil pricing for our Canadian wheat farmers?
According to Robert’s dream, those leaders took the monopoly example from a visit to Canada’s CWB and created their own monopoly called OPEC.
In a very short time, they increased the price of oil from 10 cents a barrel to $112 a barrel, a factor of 1,112 percent, and became instant billionaires.
So my expectations are that they can do the same with the three cents of wheat in a current loaf of bread and, according to Robert’s dream, using their magic multiplier of 1,112 percent, resulting in all western Canadian wheat growers getting $33.36 per loaf of bread. Reads like we are all billionaires in waiting.
Oops, I was having a nightmare.
