Canadian mushroom grower expands

Highline Produce Ltd. has bought All Seasons Mushrooms, one of the largest mushroom growers in Western Canada.

All Seasons, founded in 1997 grows about 8.62 million kilograms of certified organic mushrooms a year from three facilities in British Columbia and one in Alberta.

Highline, founded in 1961, is a fully integrated mushroom business with five facilities in Ontario and Quebec.

It is the largest operator in the mushroom industry in Canada, marketing about 26.3 million kg of mushrooms per year. It is the world’s largest grower of organic mushrooms, producing white, mini bella and portabella mushrooms without the use of pesticides or fungicides.

All of Highline and All Seasons’ combined nine locations will remain in operation with business as usual for the two companies’ combined staff of 1,400 employees across Canada.
