Now that Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan is in the process of being sold to the highest bidder, agriculture will be the worse off if the control moves to Beijing or Canberra or wherever outside Canada.
The federal government appoints representatives on the wheat board, no election needed. The Saskatchewan government has still representatives on the board of Potash Corp., I presume not elected either.
Why should farm organizations not have the same right to appoint representatives on Farm Credit Corp., Potash Corp., the Canada Pension Board and many more, that affect farming, and particularly the boards that regulate allocations of land for oil and gas exploration?
Think about it and perhaps vote for another party that will accommodate your wishes. All politicians promise sunshine tomorrow, but like the weather, they can change often in outcome.
