Global Markets: Iran calls for arrest of President Trump

A top Iranian prosecutor has issued arrest warrants for United States President Donald Trump and 30 others who were believed to have been involved in the January 3 drone strike that killed General Qassem Soleimani. The prosecutor, Ali Alqasimehr, did not identify anyone else with a warrant besides President Trump. Iran has also sought the help of Interpol in detaining the accused.

World COVID-19 cases passed the 10 million milestone this weekend, spurred largely by massive spikes of infection in the United States. Over the weekend, Florida reported almost 10,000 cases alone, and has since rolled back some reopening measures.

Protestors are organizing agains Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro after Brazil added almost 260,000 COVID-19 cases and 7,000 deaths last week. Protests against Brazil’s far-right leader occurred in Brazil and 20 others countries, including Austria, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, and the United States.
