Canadian Financial Close: C$ softens

WINNIPEG, April 12 (MarketsFarm) – The Canadian dollar was slightly weaker on Monday, seeing a modest correction after Friday’s jobs-related strength.
The Canadian dollar closed at US$0.7966 or US$1=C$1.2553 on Monday, which compares with Friday’s North American close US$0.7972 or US$1=C$1.2544.
Crude oil posted small gains, with West Texas Intermediate crude oil up by 0.74 per cent at US$59.76 per barrel.
The TSX Composite Index was softer, losing 26.75 points, or 0.14 per cent, to close at 19,201.28 points.
