For the second time this year, Grain Growers of Canada is looking for a new executive director.

The organization confirmed this week that a search has begun for a new executive director to replace Jim Facette.

Facette was hired less than two months ago to replace long-time GGC executive Richard Phillips.

But less than two months into the new job, Facette is moving on.

In a short Oct. 21 email to the Western Producer, GGC president Stephen Vandervalk confirmed that Facette is no longer with the organization and that the process of seeking a replacement is underway.

Facette joined GGC in early September.

When he was hired, GGC described Facette as an experienced government and public relations professional, who served most recently as president and chief executive officer of the Canadian Propane Association.

Grain Growers of Canada is an umbrella organization that represents 14 agricultural groups across the country.

GGC membership includes the Canadian Canola Growers Association, Manitoba Corn Growers Association, Manitoba Pulse Growers Association, Prairie Oat Growers Association, Western Barley Growers Association and Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association.
