Peace and B.C.
- Harvest about 65 percent complete with canola nearing 50.

- Hay and pasture benefited from later season rains in August and early September.

Saskatchewan
Southwest
- Harvest 90 percent complete with progress near or ahead of average.
- Harvest least advanced on oilseeds, later planted durum, canaryseed.
- Wind damage on swathed, standing canola crops. Shattering a problem, even on crops treated with pod sealants.
- Straw baling more common than normal due to high demand in central Saskatchewan and Alberta.
- Soil moisture declined in recent weeks with 40 percent adequate, 33 percent short and 25 percent very short.
- Deer damage. Winter wheat being eaten by grasshoppers.
Southeast
- Rain delayed harvest progress. About 80 percent of fields combined.
- Oilseed crops least advanced. Drydown delayed due to uneven maturity at swathing.
- Wind damage, grasshoppers in fall cereals.
- Soil moisture 70 percent adequate, with shortages near the Manitoba border.
West-central
- Harvest 75 percent complete.
- Wind and frost caused some crop damage.
- Cropland moisture is 47 percent adequate, 33 percent short.
- Variability in crops is causing some producers to swath to even crop maturities.
East-central
- Harvest 65 percent complete with less than half of canola combined.
- Cropland moisture 76 percent adequate and 23 percent short.
- Progress delayed by rain. Ditches and sloughs filling in eastern areas.
- About 70 percent of pastures and hay land have adequate moisture.
Northwest
- Harvest 65 percent complete. Extensive swathing to deal with uneven maturity.
- Half of the land has adequate or better soil moisture, with the remainder short or very short.
- Rain has stalled harvest progress.
- Frost and wind damaged crops at Glaslyn and Pierceland.
- Pastures generally poor.
Northeast
- Harvest 60 percent complete.
- Yields average in most crops. Canaryseed reported at 1,350 pounds and mustard at 1,250 on average.
- Canola swathing complete.
- Wind, frost and migrating geese causing damage.
- About 80 percent of fields have adequate moisture.
Manitoba
Southwest
- Cereal harvest 90 percent complete south of Highway 1, 70 to the north. Canola and flax harvest is about 70 percent complete overall.
- Sunflower and grain corn continue to mature, however dry down, along with other harvest, is stalled due to recent showers.
- Feed shortages being assessed. Pasturing of cattle on harvested grain land is underway.
Central and Red River Valley
- Rain has halted harvest, with up to 30 millimetres near Pilot Mound.
- Cereal threshing is 95 percent done, canola 90, flax 60, edible beans 60.
- Soybean harvest just beginning, with yields from 20 to 40 bushels per acre.
- Sunflowers drying down, with some sclerotinia head rot. Frost has caused leaf deterioration in corn, a crop that is expected to deliver light bushel weights this year.
- Seventy-five percent of potatoes are in storage but late blight and earlier season storage temperatures remain issues for producers.
- Pastures excellent, corn silage ongoing.
Interlake
- Southern region is nearing harvest completion. North is 50 to 80 percent done. Flax, fababean, soybean, canola and sunflower remain to be completed.
- Damp conditions delaying harvest progress.
- Corn silage underway with average yields reported.
- Haying underway for a third time in some areas.
- Muddy conditions near Winnipeg Beach.
Northwest
- Rain has stalled harvest, with 25 mm falling near Roblin.
- Most cereals are off the fields; 25 percent of canola is threshed in the north, 90 in the south.
- Feed supplies short but pastures are in good condition. Producers waiting for killing frost to move cattle onto second cut alfalfa.
- Ergot reported in late season wheat.
