Officials confirmed a third case of anthrax in Saskatchewan last week.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said a cattle operation in the Rural Municipality of Garden River, northeast of Prince Albert, was placed under quarantine and anthrax was positively identified on Aug. 22.
The previously confirmed cases involved bison, cattle and horses, and were in southeastern Saskatchewan. No other provinces have confirmed anthrax yet this year.
Last year, there were two premises affected in Saskatchewan, four in Manitoba and one in Alberta.
