Noooooo! Say it isn’t so! I am going to miss Western People so much. As soon as The

Western Producer arrives, I always give it a shake, and wait with great anticipation for that

week’s Western People to fall out from between its pages. I loved sharing in its stories that

told of the weird and wonderful ways people chose to live, I loved the humor, Sara’s garden

column, and Doug’s gentle view of nature.

writing and so it earned a very special place in my heart. It gave me the confidence to pursue

a writing career. Today I write regular humor columns for The Northerner, in Fort St. John,

The Advocate in Red Deer, the Ottawa Citizen and The Western Producer. Still, whenever I

would get a piece published in Western People, it was always a special thrill.

More than anything I loved your editorials. I always said that Western People was the only

magazine where I always read the first page first, instead of flipping to the last. I am going

to miss your warm, funny, wry look at the goings on of our world most of all.
