A new economic impact study of Canadian Western Agribition has found a total contribution of $96.5 million.
The study, by Praxis Consulting Ltd., shows a 31 percent increase since the last assessment of the annual show in 2017.
The show contributes $60.6 million to the provincial GDP.

Key figures released by CWA on Jan. 31 show $2.2 million in livestock sales and $979,000 in trade show booth sales during the 2022 show. Vendor sales from the trade show were $1.7 million.
The show generates $17.7 million in government revenue each year. Of that, $8.3 million is federal revenue, $8 million provincial and $1.4 million municipal.
It creates or maintains 902 jobs in the province, including 730 local jobs.
“Our show is a major economic driver for the province and its residents, directly or indirectly supporting one out of every 190 jobs in the Regina area,” said CEO Shaun Kindopp in a news release.
Full financial details from the 2022 show will be released April 19 during the annual meeting.
