A strong low pressure system brought more rain to soggy southern Saskatchewan over the last couple of days.

The system stalled over the Cypress Hills Wednesday, resulting in heavy rains throughout the southwest before it regrouped and stalled again in the southeast.

Environment Canada said Thursday it appeared Moosomin, Sask., already struggling with repeated flooding, saw the highest total at 100 millimetres.

Also hit hard were Moose Jaw at 66.9 mm, an area 16 kilometres north of Mortlach at 62 mm and Vanguard at 64.5 mm.

Although a large area, including Regina, had been under heavy rainfall warnings, the city saw just 4.6 mm.

Many areas, including Swift Current, Maple Creek, Yorkton and Spy Hill, saw about 35 mm.

By Thursday afternoon, the rain had moved into southern Manitoba, leaving scattered showers behind.
