Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$60.06 per hundredweight May 24, down from $61.69 May 24.
U.S. hogs averaged $76.70 on a carcass basis May 24, down from $77.97 May 24.
The U.S. pork cutout was $82.68 per cwt. May 24, down from $83.27 May 24.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to June 1 was 2.128 million, down from 2.325 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.034 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the June 1 Signature Five price was C$194.59 per 100 kilograms, down from $200.21 the previous week.

On a per hundredweight basis, the price was $88.27, down from $90.81.
Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$4.90-$5.20 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.30 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$4.90-$5.10. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.10.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 1,147 sheep and lambs and 27 goats sold May 27. Light new crops lambs sold lower. All other new crops sold barely steady. All other classes of lambs and goats sold steady. Sheep sold lower.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,460 sheep and 398 goats sold May 27.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $235-$280 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $230-$320, 70-85 lb. were $243-$280, 86-105 lb. were $225-$270 and 106 lb. and heavier were $226-$240.
Wool rams were $100-$191 per cwt. Cull ewes were $100-$127.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $230-$260 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $230-$270, 70-85 lb. were $235-$275, 86-105 lb. were $220-$255 and 106 lb. and heavier were $220-$235.
Hair rams were $110-$120 per cwt. Cull ewes were $105-$177.50.
