FARGO, ND – If you go to a farm show that flaunts the macho title “Big Iron” you’d expect to see some pretty large implements, right? We found them at the 2018 Big Iron Show in Fargo last week, and here’s a sampling of some Big Iron stories we’ll be bring you in the near future.
Rubicon: Weighing in at 58,200 pounds with a full 2,200 gallon tank, full rinse and diesel tanks, the new 380 h.p. Hardi Rubicon 9000 is now the biggest selfpropelled high clearance sprayer on the block, however look for coverage from Ontario’s Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show that is even larger.

Hexx Traxx: If Rubicon failed to satisfy your lust for big iron, the six-wheel drive Hexx Traxx 12-row one-pass beet harvester tops the beets, digs them, cleans them and conveys them up into the 30-ton hopper. (See photo at top of page)
Crary Split Air: You can’t talk big implements without discussing the big header war. When it comes to air, Crary leads the field with their new split air 40-foot reel.

Wilson Agrilite: It’s aluminum, not iron, but the Wilson Pacesetter snuck in anyway. The rear conveyor swings ten feet side-to-side and unloads 4,000 pounds per minute.

Camso track: By installing a planetary gearbox within the frame, Camso has solved the problem of tracked combines forfeiting transit speed.

Coils: These tightly wound steel coils may not be big in a physical sense, but the unique Australian spring wire gauge wheels and packers may wind up having a big influence on how we plant our crops.
