Mixed farm tractors

New Holland’s new T7000 series of tractors, which offer 135 to 195 power take-off horsepower, are designed for mixed livestock and grain farms.

The auto command continuously variable transmission provides seamless movement from a stop through road speeds. The New Holland power management system allows the machine to handle the drive system while maintaining a constant p.t.o. rpm for fuel efficiency and ease of use.

The tractors automatically engage the front axle as necessary to maintain traction. A self-leveling axle and tight turning radius options are available.

Mid-sized tractors

John Deere has released the latest in its line of higher end, mid-sized tractors.

The 7530 Premium is aimed at the mixed farm operation or smaller grain segment in Western Canada.

The 180 engine, 152 p.t.o. horsepower machine has a full length frame tied to a heavy duty rear axle, making the tractor suited for a large front-end loader.

The unit has a 540-1,000 rpm p.t.o.

An optional, infinitely variable transmission is available that provides the operator one lever control that will carry the machine from a stop to 40 km-h without a gear change.

The Deere electronics manage fuel efficiency while the machine is set for constant p.t.o. speed.

A triple link suspension is also available for owners looking to manage their ride or where lots of field moves are required.

Durum gets Triton

Durum growers can now use the Group 2 and Group 4 broadleaf weed control herbicide Triton K from DuPont.

Previously available for spring wheat and barley crops, Triton K is a Solumax product and should find a home in the brown soil zone where durum producers often face off with Group 2 resistant kochia, cow cockle, wild buckwheat, Russian thistle, flixweed and narrow-leaved hawk’s beard.

In Harmony

DuPont is launching a new formulation of Harmony SG herbicide for controlling broadleaf and grassy weeds in cereals.

The new formulation has been approved for use in spring wheat and durum and will control wild oats, green foxtail, five-leaf wild buckwheat and 20 other common broadleaf weeds.

Harmony SG comes with a built-in adjuvant that eliminates the hassles of adjuvant loading and mixing. It also has a wide window of use, allowing application from the two-leaf stage to the emergence of the flag leaf.

It leaves no soil residue, has no re-cropping restrictions the following year and is rain fast in one hour.

Harmony Grass, the graminicide component of Harmony SG, will also be offered as a preferred tank-mix partner.

The product will be available in a 40-acre case. Limited quantities will be available in a 160-acre tote.
