Dow AgroSciences has received registration for tank mixing Prestige and Horizon to get season-long control of perennial broadleaf weeds such as Canada thistle, sow thistle and round-leaved mallow plus grasses such as wild oats and green foxtail.
Dow says it is a good tank mix in a herbicide rotation program because it lets farmers rotate out of Group 2 broadleaf products.
Prestige is a Group 4 broad spectrum, post-emergent broadleaf herbicide for use in barley and all spring wheat, except durum. For more information, contact a Dow AgroSciences dealer.

Round bale convenience
Vermeer has a new line of balers for smaller operators who need large bale convenience.
The Rebel 5400 produces 120-centimetre wide bales up to 150 cm in diameter and weighing up to 540 kilograms. The Rebel 5500 produces 155 cm-wide bales up to 165 cm in in diameter and up to 675 kg.
The 5400 requires a minimum 40 horsepower tractor and the 5500 needs a 55 hp tractor. Vermeer models feature adjustable hydraulic-spring belt tension and true bottom drum design for high-density bales.
Simple mechanical adjustments handle the pickup lift and height adjustments, as well as the aggressiveness of the pickup tines for different crop conditions.
