Pipeline plow
Empire Welding and Machining of North Battleford, Sask., has introduced the Ultraplow pasture and pipeline plow.
It is designed to provide a shallow underground fresh water supply for livestock or smaller irrigation projects.
The Ultraplow plows and lays PVC pipe to a depth of 24 inches. Pipe diameter can range from 11/4 inches to four inches.
The Ultraplow can be operated using a tractor rated at 100 to 150 horsepower. The low horsepower requirement makes it economical relative to other trenching equipment.
Standard features include a hard surfaced ripper style blade, sturdy four inch frame construction, heavy duty, 18 inch coulters that allow for cutting through any type of ground conditions, and hydraulically controlled hose reel arms that fold down to handle all sizes of reels.

Self-propelled sprayer
Spray-Air Technologies Ltd. of Carseland, Alta., has a new self-propelled field sprayer. The model SP2010 Predator series features a mechanical drive chassis by GVM and is powered by a Cummins 5.9 litre 185 horsepower diesel engine.
It has an Allison five-speed automatic transmission with torque lock-up in second to fifth gear, JCB differential, air bag suspension, air-over-hydraulic disc brakes and 50 inch clearance with Fairfield all-gear drop boxes.
The buddy-seat style cab features air conditioning, full instrumentation, auto lock hand throttle, air ride seat, power steering and high-power flood lights for a commanding view and operator comfort.
The sprayer comes standard with a 1,000 US gallon primary tank and 80 gallon rinse tank. Boom width options include an 80-103 foot range with the Trident air boom system or 80-110 feet widths with the Advantage conventional boom system.
The chassis is rated for road speeds up to 65 km-h. The sprayer console is both GPS and Chem Injection Ready.Another option is Raven’s SmarTrax auto steer.
The sprayers will be marketed through dedicated and certified Spray-Air Predator series dealers.

Surfacing wire
McKay ArmorWear self-shielded flux cored hard surfacing wire by Hobart Brothers offers improved resistance against adhesive wear, abrasion and impact. It is designed for overlay on carbon and low alloy steel and provides a cost effective solution for farming, mining and quarry industries.
The wire provides improved performance with straight polarity and is designed for 110 to 120 V wire welding machines.
ArmorWear deposits a premium martensitic alloy steel of H-12 tool steel composition and maintains its hardness up to 1,000 F. It has a steady arc and smooth spray transfer and is best suited for flat and horizontal hard surfacing. As deposited on 1020 steel, the wire has a hardness ranging from 47 Rc to 53 Rc for one to three layers.
The wire is designed to optimize performance on 110/220 V type wire welding machines using DCEN (straight) polarity. It is available in .035-inch diameter wire on 10 pound spools.
