Breeding system

Monsanto Choice Genetics has introduced a new, closed-herd, swine

breeding system that offers producers more control over herd health and

allows for quick introduction of genetic improvements.

Monsanto Choice Genetics’ Core Matriarch Pyramid breeding system

features the genetics of a single maternal Landrace line. Producers can

choose the semen of a grandparent boar. Females are artificially

inseminated on the farm, eliminating the introduction of live animals

into the herd. The system also allows for easier introduction of

genetic improvements.
