Easy ditch digging
Adolf Vaags, a retired farmer from Manitoba, has invented the Triple S
Ditcher.
It cuts a 1.5-metre-wide flat bottom ditch up to 15 centimetres deep in
one pass. It spins and spreads the dirt evenly up to 45 m, eliminating
the time usually needed to level piles with a conventional scraper.
The two back wheels control the depth or slope of the machine to create
a V shaped ditch. It weighs 3,400 kilograms and can handle heavy gumbo,

Loaders easy to move
Brandt Agricultural Products Ltd. of Regina has released two new
field-sized, maneuverable conveyor-type loaders, models 1535 and 1545.
The intake end of the new 35 and 45 foot pulse-crop-friendly loaders
uses no flashing, similar to the company’s larger 65 to 85 foot models.
The loaders use 15-inch belts in 10-in. tubes to maintain 6,000 bushels
per hour capacity. The S-drive has a spring-loaded tensioner that
maintains consistent belt tension.
Drives are available in 10 horsepower electric, 20 hp gas, hydraulic
and power takeoff designs.
By moving drive components closer to the axle, lifting weight at the
intake end has been lowered to about 60 pounds making it possible to
move the loaders by hand.
Powder paint and wind guards are standard.

Bigger grain cart
Degelman has introduced a 1,150 bushel grain cart to complement its
existing 800 bu. unit.
The Shuttlekart 1150 is longer and wider with a heavier undercarriage,
bigger tires and a scale for weighing loads.
The swing auger lowers to nearly horizontal and can load into a semi
truck or a bin auger.
The cart can eliminate the need for a grain truck and has greater
flexibility. It can be used to unload seed or apply inoculant directly
into the seeder. In winter, it can be used as a feed wagon.
It can be used on fields where a truck would get stuck and it doesn’t
pose the hazard of starting a stubble fire.
