Stratego herbicide

Bayer CropScience has received registration for Stratego, the first post emergent cereal fungicide with two modes of action. Stratego 250EC controls a broad spectrum of diseases in wheat, durum, barley and oats. It controls septoria leaf blotch, tan spot, net blotch, scald, various rusts and powdery mildew.

It is a combination of fungal respiration and sterol inhibitor active ingredients. It has the preventive power of trifloxystrobin and the systemic activity of propiconazole. The two modes of action reduce the risk of resistance. The product can be applied by air and is rainfast in one hour.

Applicator gives flexibility

Graham Seed Treating Systems’ new G3DS Double Shoot Applicator allows application of a variety of seed treatments together or separately without tank mixing them.

The system allows the operator to switch between two liquid products or apply them at the same time. This eliminates the need for premixing products and the risk of wasting premixes that aren’t used. It can be used with liquid fungicides, inoculants, insecticides or micro nutrient products.

The G3DSP option includes an attached M1 secondary mixer for use with pulses. The unit has the same high speed and accuracy as standard Graham G3 applicators. Upgrade kits are available for existing G3 and G3-1100 systems.

Harvester redesign

Claas of America has restyled its self-propelled forage harvester line.

The Claas Jaguar Speedstar now features an integrated additive tank and integrated air compressor. The additive tank has a 409 litre capacity and is mounted low for easy filling.

The compressor has a capacity of 21 cubic feet per minute at 127 pounds per square inch and is sufficient to power most air tools used for regular maintenance and cleaning.

The redesigned cab is more comfortable and has a new electronic driving control system, allowing the operator to select one of three driving codes that provide more or less aggressive reaction to suit the driver’s style.

The unit has faster highway speed and a 12 percent increase in pulling power.
