Power generator
Brian Mass of Highway Ten Sales of Lemberg, Sask., is distributing power take-off-driven electrical power generators made by Generac Power Systems Inc.
There are three models. The PTO-25 produces 25 kilowatts of continuous power and surge power of 50 kw. It requires a 45 horsepower tractor.
The p.t.o.-40 has 40 kw of continuous power and 80 kw of surge power. It needs a 69 h.p. tractor.
Both use a 540 p.t.o. shaft and produce either 110 or 220 single phase power.
The p.t.o.-60 can produce 54 kw of single phase or 60 kw of three-phase power with surge of 120 kw. It needs a 105 h.p. tractor.

Swath inverter
Matador Manufacturing has introduced the Matador swath inverter 7900.
It lifts and inverts fresh or rained-on swaths. Swaths are moved to dry ground to dry more quickly.
The company says drying time can be reduced by as much as 50 percent. No bunching, skipping or roping of windrows makes baling easier.
The unit has a 193 centimetre (76 inch) wide, low-profile pickup with hydraulic drive and simple design. It can work at speeds of up to 16 km-h.
The optional hydraulic pickup lift allows the operators to avoid swaths that don’t need inverting. The unit can also fluff cereal crops.

Hotline
Diesel Services Group of Saskatoon is offering a toll-free hotline for questions about portable electrical generators, a hot topic because of concerns about potential power outages associated with the Y2K computer problem.
Diesel can also provide a sizing chart to help measure the size of generator needed.

Field marking system
Aventrex has introduced the One Pass, a field marking system installed on press and hoe drills, used to mark fields for spraying while seeding.
By skipping a few seed rows at the appropriate location, tramlines are made to guide the operator while spraying, helping to eliminate overlap and missed spots.
The manufacturer says the system takes only about an hour to install and can be transferred from one drill to another.
With the in-cab monitor, the operator can manage the flow of seed or let the system automatically control the process.
