Canada’s annual inflation rate in July rose 0.1 percentage point to 1.3 percent, pushed up mostly by higher transportation prices, which rose 2.7 percent year-over-year.
Gasoline prices rose by 6.1 percent on an annualized basis, compared with 4.6 percent in June.
Food prices rose just 0.8 percent, the smallest year-on-year increase since June 2010.
