The Alberta government has appointed two members to a rural development board that will help distribute $100 million to projects to boost growth in rural Alberta.
Bob Clark and Fred Estlin have been appointed founding board members of the corporation announced during the provincial budget. The corporation will be independent of government and will administer the $100 million in funding for rural value-added projects.
The provincial government is accepting applications for other board members. It’s expected a full board of directors will meet in August and will begin to consider projects in the fall.
