Richardson International has bought Innovative Foods Corp., a margarine and shortening manufacturing business with plants in Mississauga, Ont., and Sussex, N.B.
The deal will help Richardson expand in the retail, food service and industrial markets in Canada and the United States, said Richardson Nutrition vice-president John Haen.
