Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was $53.64 April 21, up slightly from $53.04 April 17.
U.S. hogs averaged $66.02 on a carcass basis April 21, down from $68.63 April 17.
The U.S. pork cutout was $80.43 per hundredweight April 21, up from $77.61 April 17.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to April 21 was unavailable. It was 2.438 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.374 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the April 14 Signature Four price was C$180.62 per 100 kilograms, down from $182.22.

The April 22 Hams Marketing cash price was $192.09, up from $180.22, HyLife was $192.09 compared to $193.16 April 15. OlyWest was $172.00, down from $175.20.
OlyWest 2021 was down, at $185.40, from $187.60, and HyLife’s adjusted price was $192.09, compared to $193.05 March 15.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 684 sheep and 521 lambs sold April 17.
Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta. reported 888 sheep and 294 goats sold April 17.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $215-295 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $220-305, 70-85 lb. were $230-285, 86-105 lb. were $220-275 and 106 lb. and heavier were $210-255. Wool rams were $90-190 per cwt. Cull ewes were $85-198.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $200-250, 55-69 lb. were $220-270, 70-85 lb. were $220-275, 86-105 lb. were $220-250 and 106 lb. and heavier were $200-247. Hair rams were $125-190 per cwt. Cull ewes were $95-165.
