Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts wasn’t available June 24 or June 17.
U.S. hogs averaged $120.23 on a carcass basis June 24, up from $115.72 June 17.
The U.S. pork cutout was $112.20 per hundredweight June 24, down from $114.61 June 17.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to June 25 was 2.304 million, down from 2.372 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.354 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the June 25 Signature Four price was C$248.17 per 100 kilograms, up from $242.80.

Bison
Prices offered by Canadian buyers for slaughter in Canada start at $4-$4.25 per pound hot hanging weight for Grade A bison bulls and $3.75-$4.25 for heifers on very light trading. Canadian buyers are offering $4.60-$4.80 for prime bulls and $4.40-$4.70 for heifers for slaughter in the United States.
U.S. buyers are paying US$3.60-$4 per lb. hot hanging weight for prime bulls from Canada for U.S. slaughter, where slaughter times are booked. Heifers are being purchased at $3.60-$3.80. Returns to producers are dependent on exchange rates, quality, transportation, and export costs.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 1,291 sheep and nine goats sold June 20.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 822 sheep and 259 goats sold June 20.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $190-$260 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $215-$265, 70-85 lb. were $217.50-$270, 86-105 lb. were $215-$269 and 106 lb. and heavier were $210-$230. Wool rams were $105-$153 per cwt. Cull ewes were $90-$163.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $160-$220 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $190-$230, 70-85 lb. were $190-$235, 86-105 lb. were $215-$235 and 106 lb. and heavier were $190-$210. Hair rams were $113-$210 per cwt. Cull ewes were $80-$160.
