Jason Pollock announced yesterday that he is quitting the post of chief executive officer and general manager of Canadian Western Agribition in Regina.

Pollock joined the organization in 2007. He said he is leaving to take over the family ranch at Maple Creek, Sask.

“Agribition is a fantastic organization with a wonderful reputation around the world,” Pollock said in a news release. Pollock said quitting was a tough decision, but he and his wife are looking forward to teaching their three children about agriculture and the rural lifestyle.

“I want to instill in them the love of the land that I have, and the love of agriculture that I have,” he said in the release. “That’s really what tipped the scales for me.”

Pollock is expected to leave at the end of March. The search for his replacement is underway.
