Forage award
The Saskatchewan Forage Council has presented its annual forage industry innovation award to Bazil Fritz.
Fritz, who worked as a provincial forage and livestock specialist with Saskatchewan Agriculture, believed that perennial forages play an important role in profitable livestock operations and focused on the economics of grazing livestock production.
He has also worked on forage and grazing projects in Ukraine and China and has hosted international delegations to Canada to show how agronomic practices are implemented and how extension is conducted in Canada.

FCC funds 4-H
Farm Credit Canada has committed $250,000 per year for the next four years to the FCC 4-H 4-Ever program, which it runs with the Canadian 4-H Council.
The program was started in 2006 as a way to raise awareness of 4-H and increase membership.
FCC and the 4-H council have expanded the program this year by developing a new initiative to provide club-level funding and support. Rural 4-H clubs will be able to apply for funding through the council.
