South
- Pre-seeding burn-off spraying is underway, with seeding following closely behind.
- Peas and durum are reported to be well underway in drier areas of the Lethbridge to Medicine Hat triangle.
- Canola is being planted where soil temperatures have warmed above 5 C. Overnight lows have regularly dipped into the -5 C.
- Producers are opting for higher levels of seed treatment because of the cool season.
- Winter wheat is in fair to good condition where snowfall was adequate.
- Some cattle are moving to pasture, but many are not because cool conditions have slowed pasture development.
- Soil moisture is wet to sufficient along the mountains and sufficient to dry east to the Saskatchewan border, with isolated pockets of drought. Wet to excess conditions reported east and south of Lethbridge.

Central

- Cool soil and limited moisture northwest of Edmonton and dry conditions to the northwest are reported.
- Extreme drought in the Grand Prairie area and southern Peace is delaying seeding and damaging pasture.
Saskatchewan
Southwest
- Seeding is 10 to 30 percent complete with peas, lentils, mustard and durum wheat well underway.
- Cool soil has slowed pastures.
- Two-thirds of soil has sufficient moisture, with the remainder short. The trend is declining sufficiency.
- Some fall grasshopper damage to winter crops reported.
- Pastures late with average to sufficient moisture.
Southeast
- Seeding late to start, with up to five percent planted.
- Weed development is delayed because cool weather, which slows pre-seeding spraying.
- One-quarter of land is reported as having excess moisture with remainder being sufficient.
- Winterkill of fall seeded crops reported.
West-central
- One to 10 percent seeded with peas, lentils and some cereals and canola.
- Pre-seeding spraying underway, but delayed by cold weather.
- Soil moisture varies from adequate in the east to poor in the west and very poor in pockets near Rosetown, north of Kindersley and west of North Battleford.
East-central
- Seeding underway, with some pre-seeding weed control.
- Rain and snow in the past week.
- Sufficient moisture present in 90 percent of the region.
- Pastures reported in good condition.
Northwest
- Seeding of peas and limited amounts of canola underway.
- Limited pre-seeding spraying is underway.
- Poor to adequate soil moisture conditions in the Lloydminster area, with two-thirds having sufficient amounts and the remainder being short.
Northeast
- Lentils and pea seeding up to five percent complete.
- Limited pre-seeding spraying is underway.
- Soil moisture 90 percent adequate.
Manitoba
Southwest
- Cool temperatures and wet to moist conditions are delaying seeding.
- Fall seeded crops receiving fertilizer.
- Peas seeded in the extreme southwest near Goodlands and Waskada.
Southeast and Red River Valley
* Wet to moist conditions are keeping producers off most fields.
- Limited seeding of potatoes, peas and canola in the Carberry, Trehern and Lowe Farm areas.
* Red River area assessing moisture damage to fall seeded crops in low-lying areas.
- Pastures in good to very good condition.
Central and Interlake
- Moist to wet soils will delay field operations until the end of this week in many areas.
- Fall seeded crops in good to poor condition.
- Ruts from a wet harvest will cause delays in spraying and fertilizer applications.
- Pastures well to excellent.
Northwest
- Soil moisture wet in the east to dry near Roblin. Cold soil keeping many producers out of the fields.
- Fall seeded crops are in poor condition because of delayed seeding last year.
- Pasture conditions are moist and in need of heat. Feed is short in eastern areas because of continued wet conditions.
