Nominations sought

Nominations are being accepted for the Canadian Agri-Food Awards of Excellence.

The national awards celebrate outstanding achievement in innovation, environmental stewardship, export performance, volunteerism, and agricultural awareness and education. This year, they will also recognize achievements in youth leadership.

Nominations will be accepted until Sept. 7.

Support for ag groups

The Saskatchewan government has allocated $1.375 million in funding to five agricultural organizations in the province.

Equine Canada funding

Equine Canada will receive $409,050 in federal funding to help develop and implement its long-term international marketing strategy.

Equine Canada is hoping to brand Canada as a producer of quality horses suitable for sport disciplines, the racing sector and breeding.

The organization seeks to increase Canadian exports abroad and promote equine and equestrian interests in Canada.
