Label changes
Dow AgroSciences Canada has changed its pre-emergent herbicides Edge Granular, EMC, Treflan 5G and Advance 10G.
Edge Granular and EMC labels will change from control to suppression in wild oats and volunteer wheat. Wild oat control on Treflan and Advance will also change to
suppression.
With these new labels, Dow AgroSciences recommends a registered, in-crop post-emergent graminicide to control wild oats and volunteer wheat in fields that have been treated with pre-emergent Edge Granular, EMC, Treflan or Advance.

CropLife Canada recently published its Coexistence Best Management Practices Guide, which is intended to provide a set of guidelines to growers to maintain the viability of production systems.
The guide is designed to show how different crop production systems, such as genetically modified, conventional and organic, can work side by side in Canada.
“With effective crop management programs, it is possible to facilitate the coexistence of different production systems in Canada,” said CropLife Canada president Lorne Hepworth.
“This guide supports our industry’s commitment to stewardship, through our plant biotechnology stewardship first program.”
The biostewardship initiative is intended to facilitate the responsible use of plant biotechnology products. Coexistence is a marketing and trade issue for growers who need to be able to meet the standards demanded by their markets, as do neighbouring growers.
“By incorporating the principles outlined and adopting the guidelines described in the Best Management Practices Guide, growers should be able to ensure the continued mutual sustainability of different production systems in Canada,” Hepworth said.
