Marriage beats divorce

SASKATOON (Staff) – Marriage is still outrunning divorce two to one on the Prairies. Alberta recorded 17,860 marriages last year, compared to 8,357 final divorces in 1991-92, says the province’s Registry Branch. Saskatchewan’s vital statistics department notes 5,638 marriages last year and 2,259 divorces or annulments. In Manitoba the figures were 6,752 marriages and 3,401 divorces.
