The Saskatchewan government has implemented a fire ban in all provincial parks and crown land, effective immediately.

The fire risk throughout the province is extreme, including in the agricultural areas. A ban means no open fires, controlled burns or fireworks.

There are 18 wildfires currently burning in the province, all of them in the North.

Individual municipalities also impose bans or partial bans. As of July 1, there were 31 rural municipal bans and 18 in urban centres. These include the RMs around the cities of Regina and Saskatoon.

Residents should contact their municipalities for more information about what type of ban is in place in their areas.
