DES MOINES, Iowa  —  Two senior John Deere executives leaping over the fence to retirement allowed that company’s board to shuffle the executive herd.

During a meeting for equity market analysts and agricultural media in Des Moines at the end of June the president of the agriculture and turf division for the Americas, Australia and head of harvesting and turf divisions, David Everitt, announced his retirement from the company after 37 years of service, starting as farm equipment engineer in 1975. Senior vice president and general council James Jenkins is also retiring.

The herd shuffle begins with James Field who will take over from Everitt in October.

Field is currently the company’s chief financial officer.

Jajesh Kalathur was his deputy and will move into the lead financial role.

Corporate ripples include Max Guinn taking on duties in human resources, communications, public affairs and labour relations through the creation of new senior vice president role. John May, who managed the company’s Dubuque Works factory, will also step into another new senior job as President of Agricultural Solutions and Chief Information Officer.

In January Mary Jones will take on the role of general council for Deere.

New York Deere and Co share prices moved up U.S. $3.48 to $81.72 since the announcements, however the shares have been rising since June 25 close of $73.96. The 52-week high is $89.70 and the low $65.71.
