Crop prices halted their slide on Wednesday and canola closed slightly higher.
Soybeans gained back most of the losses it sustained Tuesday following the bearish USDA report. Corn closed unchanged.
Spring wheat edged slightly higher.

The gains were mostly technical, although there was news of new U.S. soybean export sales.
Also a general rally in commodities as crude oil rose helped to lift crop prices.

The unsettled weather is expected to continue Thursday and Friday with the largest accumulations in Canada in southern Manitoba and the southeast corner of Saskatchewan.

The rain will be welcome to dampen down fire threat and to raise moisture level in canola seed.
CHINA ETHANOL
China state media reported Beijing plans to roll out the use of a E10 gasoline – containing 10 percent ethanol – across the world’s largest car market by 2020.
This mark a major step toward the country’s goal of reducing its 200 million tonnes surplus of corn.
OUTSIDE MARKETS
Light crude oil nearby futures in New York were up $1.07 at US$49.30 per barrel.
In the afternoon, the Canadian dollar was trading around US82.10 cents, up from 82.04 cents the previous trading day. The U.S. dollar was C$1.2180.
Losses in metals more than offset gains in the energy sector of the Toronto Stock Exchange.
The S&P/TSX composite index fell 16.6 points, or 0.11 percent, to end at 15,126.81.
Wall street hit new record highs in the Dow, S&P and Nasdaq.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose rose 39.32 points, or 0.18 percent, to 22,158.18 The S&P 500 edged upgained 1.89 points, or 0.08 percent, to 2,498.37, and the Nada Composite added 5.91 points, or 0.09 percent, to 6,460.19.
