The new Massey Ferguson VE Series planters do conventional till, no-till, variable-rate, high-speed planting and individual row control. The company assures growers a 99 percent or greater seed placement accuracy.
Massey says the redesigned Heads Up row unit is more durable with better seed placement accuracy. It allows users to customize planters more easily with precision technology by allowing convenient component change.
With the redesigned mount, it’s no longer necessary to remove the gauge wheels and opener blades to perform maintenance on the guard. Farmers can remove or install the guards into fully assembled row units.
One significant change is the redesign of the seed tube guard mount. Two guards are now available, according to the Massey press release. One guard is the standard assembly cast of nickel material. There is also an extended-wear guard assembly made of stainless material for high-speed planting with SpeedTube.
The redesigned shank casting now features an access hole designed to make it easier to plumb lines for liquid fertilizer. The hole is ahead of the seed tube to improve overall routing for the lines while protecting them from the opener disc blades.
The wide range of tool bars, widths and planting accessories from White Planters will be available within the VE Series. The new series is available in a variety of row-unit and spacing combinations. It includes rigid and folding-frame planters to narrow transport and track planters.
Many row-unit components have received the “heavy duty” treatment to further increase the unit’s durability. Several castings are thicker and bushings are larger and more robust.

VE planters can be ordered with factory installed precision planting devices, including vSet2 meters, vDrive electronic drive, DeltaForce and 20|20 Gen3 monitor. Plug-and-play aftermarket options such as SmartFirmer seed-firmer sensor, FlowSense and FurrowForce can be added. Other options and attachments include single and double-disc fertilizer openers, coulters, residue managers, press wheels and blades.
VE planters are available with individual three-bushel row-unit hoppers or a 90-bushel central-fill system. Depending on the model, 300-, 500- and 750-gallon liquid fertilizer tanks are available, along with dry fertilizer and insecticide delivery.
For extra-large capacity, VE is available in a track version with 150-bushel central-fill capacity and two 750-gallon liquid fertilizer tanks.
Previous planter offerings from White Planters will be available within the Massey Ferguson VE Series.
