According to senator Bob Peterson’s letter in the July 21 edition ofThe Western Producer,our agriculture minister now thinks that he has all the power he needs to go ahead and keep his promise made to his supporter friends and ignore the Canadian Wheat Board supporters, no matter how big a majority the CWB vote may show.

All CWB area farmers should realize that with the international agreements in place, if we lose our grain marketing agent now, there is very little chance of ever getting any farmer power back, in spite of the need for food worldwide.

So every vote for the CWB single desk must count or we can be sure those not voting will be counted as a vote for the open market. Or do they simply not care?

Saskatchewan depends on overseas customers, not local, and most prefer dealing with the CWB salespeople.
