I am writing this letter regarding Mr. (Barry) Wilson’s column about Senate reform (WP May 26).
As a Rhino candidate for the upcoming Saskatchewan senator in waiting (there may be up to three of us), I, or rather hopefully we, will be advocating for the abolition of the Senate. Pragmatically, I am certain that a Rhino loose in the Canadian Senate would be like a bull in a china shop. Let’s do the country a favour and put this outdated institution out to pasture.

Growth plates are instrumental in shaping a horse’s life
Young horse training plans and workloads must match their skeletal development. Failing to plan around growth plates can create lifelong physical problems.
Doesn’t it seem funny to anyone out there that the federal government is fast to make moves against things that they see as a direct benefit to their ideology but at the same time they keep the things that protect their friends and losers in the party? Even for a Rhino, that is a difficult one to figure out.
The Rhinoceros Party of Canada has grown in our short hiatus and gone are the days of “we support agriculture because all people eat.” Now we believe in full support for all areas of the federal agriculture department and advocate free jock straps and bras for all agriculture department employees to make this happen.
Also, because (agriculture minister) Gerry (Ritz) – as part of a personal quest – wants to kill the Canadian Wheat Board, we feel that Mr. Ritz should personally be held liable for all bills including the funeral, internment and memorial to the CWB because, if he personally kills it without a broad mandate from farmers, he should personally be held liable for those costs.
Thirdly, we will work hard to abolish the Senate and use the funds for other things such as health care, home care, debt reduction and crop insurance programs.
