Maybe Mr. Don Voss should rethink his stand on upping hunting fees to compensate his loss. Just as Mr. Voss is falling short in the pocketbook, so are a lot of hunters and by raising prices he might find that there would be fewer hunters to harvest those deer he is complaining about. As to his not allowing hunters onto his land, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out where there aren’t hunters there will be more deer as they aren’t stupid animals and will go where nobody is hunting them.
Maybe he should also read the article on poaching on page 27 of the same issue. As much as I hate poachers, it is possible that some of the poached game is taken by people unable to afford hunting licenses and tags.
