It was indeed a pleasure to read the tribute to Grant MacEwan as written up by an old classmate 1945-46, Jack Braidek.

It was true, professor Mac-Ewan never forgot his roots in agriculture, and he had a keen memory for old friends and aquanauts, and through him and his many books the oldtimers will always be remembered and the hardships they endured opening up the West.

I remember his lectures well. No matter what the subject was, he always got around to talking about his beloved horses.

He introduced the Canadian horse to the university stables and the Palomino.

He had a little Palomino mare that I exercised for him and showed her in the Little Royal.

That helped a homesick farm boy put up with city life for a winter.

Grant MacEwan was a great teacher and friend, and I am sure many people have fond personal memories of this remarkable man.
