Studies should not be mistaken for facts
I have been reading a lot of articles about the proposed 30 percent emissions reduction from fertilizer use. Both pros and cons are referring to some study that states a number of 12.75 million tonnes of emissions in 2019.
I have a good knowledge of soils and fertilizer and I highly question the accuracy of this “fact.” Soil chemistry is very complex, as is weather, which will greatly affect how fertilizer behaves in the soil.
Let’s not make the same mistakes again of taking the results of some study and making it into a fact.
