Stick to the facts when reporting stories
I am writing regarding the front page article of the May 11 edition titled Big, Bigger, Biggest.
While the front page part of the article was factual, the rest of it could’ve been a late night infomercial entitled, “Why the Wal-Mart model of farming is good for your small community” featuring Evan Shout of Hebert Grain Ventures.

The rest of the “reporting” in the article was very opinionated and biased. Even Mr. Shout states “his viewpoint really changed after he became the CFO of Hebert Grain Ventures.” So once he was hired and paid by a large farm, his opinion changed? What a surprise. Also, Hebert Grain Ventures is not the model that every large farm follows.
While we could go back and forth about whether his statements are true for a long while, I am more just disappointed that The Western Producer would consider his opinions front (or fourth) page newsworthy. Please, in the future, stick to reporting facts in your news articles and leave the opinions to the opinion page.
