Nothing central about ‘Central Canada’
The editorial of April 27 contains a geographically inaccurate and annoyingly colonial reference to “Central Canada.”
As someone who has lived in five provinces, including Quebec and Ontario, and vacationed in four others, I have never found anything east of the Manitoba-Ontarion border to indicate the movement of the longitudinal centre of the country.
References to southern Ontario as “Central Canada” by the media — you are included — does little to assuage the feelings of alienation caused by the “centre of Canadian universe” emanating from Toronto and Ottawa.
Please stop fanning the flames.
