Here’s a sample of this year’s crop of harvest photos called Gatherings. Please check it out in the paper. I really enjoyed producing the harvest feature from concept to completion and the collaboration of staff and freelance photographers. If only we had additional time to travel western Canada to get to see more of you and document your world.

Time, it’s a small word, but big in demand and short in supply for photographers and producers during harvest.

Speaking of gatherings, we met as a staff at the WP for two days last week for our annual conference. Like the rest of the world we are moving fast and furious into social media. Video is definitely on the way. It seems the days of being able to specialize may be over.

Producers face the reality of shifting grain price expectations

We launched our new and improved website. Besides some wrinkles to iron out it looks good. Of the websites I’ve seen, it presents well, photo rich and full of useful information. Of course my blog will be a highlight – this is your queue to roll your eyes.
