Flu vaccine

Judging by the headlines, many people in Canada won’t be caught dead taking the H1N1 vaccine now that it’s available.

It’s just the opposite in the developing world.

Canada has put its international immunization initiative, which saves about half a million of the poorest lives each year, under reassessment with no plans to extend it.

Imagine the outcry in our own country if the H1N1 vaccine was now withheld. The international immunization initiative should be immediately extended and indeed expanded.
