Copies of The Western Producer are used for many things beyond reading. And it’s good that its pages have useful second lives to subscribers, many of whom don’t have convenient access to newsprint recycling options.
Our readers recycle in their own ways. We know the Producer is used to start fires, lie beneath muddy boots, clean cow’s udders and line birdcages. And probably a lot of other things we’ve haven’t been told about.
Colter Froshaug, 5, made himself a hat from a recent issue. The chapeau has additional meaning for Colter, because his uncle, Pete Jenkins, was pictured on page 3 of the Jan. 6 issue. That’s the page from which he built his hat.
