WINNIPEG (Staff) – Manitoba Turkey Producers have decided to drop ‘marketing board’ from the name of their agency. It is the last supply-managed commodity group in the province to drop the term.

“Most of the boards are modernizing and dropping the ‘board’ in the name, noted general manager Bert Waters.

The group will launch its new name and a new logo once its regulations have been changed, Waters said.

There are 74 turkey farmers in Manitoba, who together produce about 1.65 million birds per year.
