Six unbranded Longhorn cattle stolen from a pasture near Highway 564 and Range Road 262 in Alberta were likely loaded and hauled away using a truck and trailer, say the RCMP.
The theft occurred in Wheatland County on the evening of Aug. 22 or the morning of Aug. 23, said an RCMP statement. The location was roughly 20 kilometres northwest of Strathmore.
The cattle each weighed about 272 kilograms and were described as a mix of red/black steers and heifers, said the statement. They had purple management tags, it said.
The theft is being investigated by the Strathmore RCMP and the Southern Alberta Livestock Investigations Unit.
The RCMP is now seeking information about who is responsible for the theft. The public can contact RCMP Livestock Investigations at 403-701-1462, said the statement.
